What you’ll need to start learning to drive :

Before you can start learning how to drive a car, you need a signed valid UK or NI provisional driving licence - unless you already have a full licence for a different category of vehicle. For example, an automatic or motorcycle.

Driving licences are issued by the Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). However, application form D1 can be obtained from your local post offices.

You can apply for your first provisional category B (car) licence when you are 16 but will only be valid from your 17th birthday.  Whilst you are waiting for your provisional drivers license to come into effect, you can take the opportunity to start revision for your theory test and observe how other drivers drive.

Learners :

I will give you step by step advice and support, and a planned programme according to your needs and your level.

Hand outs will be supplied with lessons to cover all the main topics which allow you to prepare for your next lesson, and double as a revision aid. This way, you will understand the topics better and have more time spent on practical driving.

Feedback will be given at the end of each lesson and will be recorded on a progress record sheet, which will help you and me to keep track of lessons as well as your progression.

It also set goals for you to achieve for your forthcoming lessons.
